no man’s land
in no man’s land, yasmeena confronts absurdity, gender apartheid, and inherited horror. here, womanhood is not soft. it is severed, hardened, unyielding.
this series recreates the garden of eden as a battleground. starting with yasmeena’s original photographs, the images were transformed using adobe firefly. sculptural dresses made from trash bags and textiles in blue echo the afghan veil. the images are deliberately broken, fractured, and incomplete. yasmeena witnessed how women were treated as disposable objects during her childhood in afghanistan.
these images refuse the language of victimhood. they speak in wreckage, defiance, and resistance.
